FILMBOOST: scholarships for Ukrainian screenwriters, cinematographers, and producers
In times of war, culture is a powerful weapon for defending Ukrainian identity and freedom.
FILMBOOST is an opportunity for screenwriters, cinematographers and producers to get EUR 5,000 in order to resume or continue work on a unique documentary or feature film about the war and its consequences, as well as the Ukrainian reality at the political, social, economic, legal, and personal levels.
The programme is provided by NGO Docudays with the support of Deutsche Filmakademie e.V. This is one of the thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.
- A monthly stipend of EUR 1,250 for the period from September till December 2022. You will get the scholarship by the 10th of each month in UAH.
- Opportunity to present your project in Germany in December 2022.
This scholarship is perfect for Ukrainian screenwriters, cinematographers, and producers who:
- Have citizenship of Ukraine
- Live and will stay in Ukraine for the scholarship period
- Have experience in film production
- Completed in English application form, except questions asked in Ukrainian
- CV
- Two recommendation letters
- The project you will be working on: development and creation of an audiovisual work or script, research for a short or feature film, production, post-production, creation of a series of short films, etc.

Applications are accepted until 31 July 2022. Organisers will announce winners on 22 August. In total, 34 professionals will get a scholarship.
- If you get a scholarship, you will be required to provide a short monthly report on the use of funds and project progress.
